Avaloq GenAI Corporate Actions for Banking Operations
The challenge
Corporate actions are significant events initiated by public companies that materially affect their shareholders and securities. At Avaloq, specialists traditionally reviewed custodian SWIFT messages and manually entered the information into the corporate actions platform. Custodian messages contain unstructured text compiled from multiple inputs, with details that vary by event type. Datos Insights puts the cost of processing errors across the market at approximately USD 1 billion annually.
What we built
At NEC Laboratories Europe, we developed the Avaloq GenAI Corporate Actions for Banking Operations solution for our customer, Avaloq. The AI agent assesses the meaning and context of incoming messages, checks them for errors, and extracts information into the relevant fields on Avaloq’s corporate actions platform. The platform uses metadata for each action type and request to generate and send customer notifications. The solution covers seven major corporate action types, representing approximately 70% of corporate action traffic.
Reported results
Avaloq’s award announcement reports:
- 98% accuracy
- Up to 40% time savings in preparing multilingual notifications
- Live for 80% of Avaloq Banking Operations clients at the time of the announcement
